Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6/11/2026

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use your information. Where required by applicable law, we will seek your consent before processing your personal information.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), profile photo, and phone number (if provided).
  • Listing information (Hosts): exact address, photos, descriptions, pricing, availability, access instructions, and payout details.
  • Booking information (Renters): booked listing, dates and times, vehicle information, and communications with the Host.
  • Payment information: processed by our payment processor (Stripe, Inc., including Link by Stripe). We receive limited metadata such as the last four digits of the card, card brand, billing ZIP, and transaction status. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Identity and trust signals: reports of misuse, ratings and reviews, and anti-fraud signals provided by our processor.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: we use a session cookie to keep you logged in while you use ParkLocal DC. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

When you visit ParkLocal DC, your browser may send standard request data (such as IP address) to third-party services we use to operate the site. We do not collect or store this data ourselves.

Third-Party Services

  • Our platform: Stores your account information, listing data, and booking records in secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Stripe (stripe.com): Processes all payments. Handles payment card data directly — we never see or store your card details.
  • Google Fonts (fonts.google.com): Loads fonts used on this site. Your browser connects to Google's servers to download fonts, which sends your IP address to Google.

2. How we use information

  • To operate the marketplace, create and authenticate accounts, list spaces, process bookings, and facilitate communications between Hosts and Renters.
  • To process payments, payouts, refunds, and chargebacks through our payment processor.
  • To prevent, detect, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
  • To send transactional messages (booking confirmations, receipts, access instructions, cancellations) and, where permitted, service-related announcements.
  • To improve, personalize, and develop new features of the Service.
  • To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our agreements.

3. How we share information

  • Between Hosts and Renters: first name and necessary booking details are shared at booking. The exact address and access instructions are revealed to the Renter only after a booking is confirmed and paid. Hosts receive the Renter's first name and booking window.
  • Service providers: we share data with vendors that help us operate the Service, including hosting, customer support, email delivery, mapping, and payment processing. These providers are contractually limited to processing data on our instructions.
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or government requests; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ParkLocalDC, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred subject to standard confidentiality protections.

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration.

4. Data retention

We retain account, booking, and transaction records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations (generally up to 7 years for financial records). You may request deletion of your account at any time; certain records may be retained where required by law.

5. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), encryption at rest for sensitive fields, role-based access controls, and routine security review. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. You may exercise these rights by emailing support@parklocal.us. We will verify your request and respond within 30 days of receiving your verified request, or as required by applicable law if shorter. You may also unsubscribe from marketing emails by following the link in any such message; transactional messages will continue.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. International users

ParkLocalDC operates in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with an updated "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
