Renter Agreement

This Renter Agreement (the "Agreement") is between you ("Renter") and ParkLocalDC. It supplements the Terms of Serviceand the Parking Rules & Safety Policy, which are incorporated by reference. By booking a parking space, you confirm and agree to the following.
1. Eligibility
- You are at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license and active vehicle registration.
- The vehicle you park is lawfully insured to the extent required by applicable law.
- The vehicle fits within the dimensions, weight, and type limits specified in the listing.
2. Use of the space
- You will park only during the booked time window and only in the specific space described in the listing.
- You will not block driveways, alleys, sidewalks, fire lanes, accessible spaces, mailboxes, utility access, or other vehicles.
- You will not store hazardous, flammable, explosive, or illegal materials, and will not leave your vehicle beyond the booking window.
- You will follow the Host's posted access instructions and treat the property with care.
- You will not perform vehicle maintenance, repair, washing, or detailing on the property without explicit Host approval.
3. Fees, charges, and authorization
- You authorize ParkLocalDC and its payment processor (Stripe, Inc., including Link by Stripe) to charge your selected payment method for the booking total, including taxes and any applicable platform fees, and to place authorization holds where appropriate.
- You authorize additional charges, including but not limited to overstay fees at the listed hourly rate plus a reasonable overstay fee, towing or removal costs caused by your overstay or violation, and reasonable costs to repair damage caused by you to the property.
- Refunds, where applicable, are governed by the listing's cancellation policy displayed at checkout and the Terms of Service.
4. Overstays, towing, and removal
- If you remain in the space after the end of your booking without an approved extension, you may be charged additional fees and, subject to applicable DC law, your vehicle may be towed at your expense.
- You agree that towing or removal undertaken in accordance with DC law and the Host's authority over the space does not constitute conversion, theft, or trespass to chattels.
5. Risk allocation and insurance
- You park your vehicle at your own risk. ParkLocalDC is not a bailee, custodian, or insurer of any vehicle.
- Your personal auto insurance and any other applicable coverage are primary for any loss or damage to your vehicle or personal property left in it.
- You are responsible for any damage you cause to the Host's property and for any third-party claims arising from your use of the space.
6. Communications and reports
You agree to communicate with the Host and ParkLocalDC primarily through in-platform messaging and tools. If a problem arises (blocked space, inaccessibility, safety issue, damage, theft), report it promptly through the in-platform "Report" tools. For emergencies, call 911 first.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ParkLocalDC and its affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your use of the space, (b) your breach of this Agreement or applicable law, (c) damage caused by your vehicle, or (d) any dispute between you and the Host, except to the extent caused by ParkLocalDC's gross negligence or willful misconduct.
8. Acknowledgment
You acknowledge that ParkLocalDC is a technology marketplace only, that the rental relationship is between you and the Host, and that ParkLocalDC is not responsible for the condition of the space or the conduct of the Host beyond the obligations expressly set out in the Terms of Service.
